WHAT IS TATER TOT CASSEROLE?
Tater Tot Casserole is pretty classic casserole dish that goes back generations. Most likely every family has their own version of this dish and it probably is a little different for every one.
Tater tot casserole is incredibly easy and convenient to make using only one pan. Not to mention it is fairly budget friendly. You can feed a crowd with a single 9×13 inch pan of tater tot casserole, or, you can easily get two meals from one casserole for a family of four.
WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN A TATER TOT CASSEROLE?
Traditionally, a Tater Tot Casserole consists of frozen Tater Tots, ground beef, cheese and cream of mushroom soup and green beans served together in a baking dish.
This recipe calls for canned green beans but you could certainly use fresh green beans, too.
Other variations could include using ground turkey or chicken in place of ground beef. Low-fat or low-sodium cream of mushroom soup would work or if you don’t have that on hand you could substitute it for cream of chicken or cream of vegetable soup. It really is so versatile- there is no wrong way to do it!
Either way, this easy and cheap dinner is kid approved and turns out delicious every time.
